U-Melt

New York, NY

RIYL: Phish, moe., Tea Leaf Green and Hot Tuna

U-Melt's sound includes elements of progressive rock, funk, electronica, and jazz. After playing more than 500 shows, U-Melt has been graduated to the summer music festival circit, as well as recent supporting sets for bands such as Addison Groove Project, Tea Leaf Green, Lotus, Umphrey's McGee, and moe.

"U-Melt continues its progression of becoming the band it wants to be - a band without boundaries... (They have the) ability to distance themselves from traditional labels, revealing a unique sound by combining intense and captivating compositions with soulful lyrics, virtuosic chops, and infectious dance grooves that will keep your feet moving and your mind floating." - New York Daily News

"A wise fan knows to expect the unexpected at a U-Melt show. From the moment the New York City based quartet hits the stage, they grab the crowd with undeniably funky and infectious grooves that hit new levels when Rob Salzer’s mind-bending guitar work and Zac Lasher’s hypnotic, entrancing keyboards are given room to roam... Although U-Melt can fall into the jamband genre, to sum them up so succinctly oversimplifies their complexity." - Jambase

"U-Melt’s music is all over the place. Within five minutes the band can hit heavy metal riffs, Steely Dan-esque lyrics and poppy melodies." - Glide

Underwater City People

Los Angeles, CA

"Take a minute to really listen to Underwater City People and you'll thank yourself a minute later. And you'll also find yourself wondering how a band can deliver such polished, technically complex, distortion-free tunes and still sound raw as all hell." - Scratch

"Underwater City People breathe pure pop oxygen but eat a diet of super-smart punk 'n' roll. With boy-girl harmonies alternately snarling and funny..." - Ghetto Blaster

US Maple

Chicago, IL

Experimental rock similar to Shellac, Sonic Youth, Royal Trux, and Pavement..... US Maple (Drag City) are one of those bands that once you discover - you are totally converted.... preaching their hard to describe gospel to your friends. There new album Purple on Time, more accessible than their earlier albums, is getting rave reviews.

"When a band with a sense of history like U.S. Maple makes an album, it should just be appreciated for what it represents. It represents a dying breed in indie music today. It represents those pioneers that made abrasive, experimental punk rock. Brandishing a huge middle finger to the trends and “it” bands of the age. Thank you Big Black, thank you Sonic Youth, thank you Rodan, thank you Fugazi...... thank you U.S. Maple. ....Are you over 25? Then you shouldn’t even need to read this, you should already own it. Are you under 25? Then listen up young pup. Put this on your wish list for Santa, you need a little schooling. " - Indie Workshop.com

"If you’ve heard of US Maple, chances are either that you need them or you’re afraid of them." 4.5 out of 5 - Sponic Zine

4 out of 5 - All Music Guide

8.6 out of 10 - Stylus Magazine
