"Real Estate have slowly carved out their own mark with discerning pop music fans via low-key, intelligent songs... Days (is) a fine batch of bittersweet pop songs that are nearly impossible to ignore." 8/10 - Blurt "In its own quiet, captivating way, Real Estate’s Days is a daring record... (Real Estate) fashioned Days in the form of the Beach Boys’ Today, the Byrds’ Notorious Byrd Brothers, and The Shins’ Oh, Inverted World - all perfect autumnal guitar-pop records... Days pulls off the impressive feat of earning that company." grade A - AV Club "Real Estate have such a knack for classic-sounding melody that every song quickly engages on a musical gut level. It's a quality their music shares with the jangly hooks of early R.E.M., the breeziness of later Pavement, and the garage twang of the Fresh & Onlys. But their closest kin are New Jersey forefathers the Feelies." 8.7/10 - Pitchfork "Real Estate's gift is that they either don't overthink their melodies... and the simplicity contrasts with their steady, dreamy atmospherics: instant nostalgia for an angst-free generation." - Spin "Days is like seeing one’s young life through a movie camera lens through a grandparent’s barely-color television, the ugly and grey ever-present but particulated and spread out between Technicolors, like a pleasantly overdubbed pointillist painting. It feels both classic and surprisingly new; this is Real Estate." 83/100 - Coke Machine Glow "Days... makes you wonder where they will travel next." 4 stars - Mojo "Days... (is) a beautifully hazy indie pop record." 8/10 - Absolute Punk "More than a specific era, Real Estate conjure a sense of place and experience as vividly as any US indie film of the past five years." 4 stars - Uncut
"On their self-titled first album, Australia’s Twerps... flesh out a breezy, promising debut... very successful and well-crafted guitar rock, which is becoming more rare these days. Twerps makes a strong case for paying attention to this band." 3.5/5 - Consequence of Sound "The Twerps... excellent melodies, simple guitar lines, and simple lyrics that imply something urgent or devastating... They make those bold, doe-eyed statements, then offset them by a tinge of melancholy in their guitars, implying something more self-aware and devastating." 7.9/10 - Pitchfork "Twerps is a likeable, pleasant enough listen... Don’t be surprised to find yourself humming some of its melodies or singing some of its lines days after you’ve been listening to it." - Spectrum Culture
"Cowboy Indian Bear's... music lives at the intersection of Grizzly Bear and Hot Chip, and although just typing that makes me gag a little, it turns out to be a good mix; they indulge the former’s affinity for reverb guitar, vocal harmonies, belabored arrangement, and standing pretty still and the latter’s fetish for up-front melodies, programming both percussive and tangential, wry turns of phrase, and mild body-bobbing... But where the concerted ambitions of Grizzly Bear and Hot Chip lead to a sort of quiet pomposity and a nebbish dance shtick, respectively, Cowboy Indian Bear’s only apparent ambition is to be a good indie rock band." - Coke Machine Glow

"Since 2002 Maid Rite has delighted audiences of all ages with their heartfelt old-time malt-country music, sassy rockin' attitudes and the prettiest voices this side of heaven. Maid Rite play traditional country instruments including mandolin, guitar, spoons, cowbell, ukulele and harmonica and take on depth and dimension when teamed with stand-up bass, glockenspiel and drums. "Before Jack White attained world fame with The White Stripes, he was a guitarist in the Detroit goof-country act Goober & The Peas. Though the Peas could bring it live, there was always a sense that they were getting one over on the audience. A successor to the underground pop act Ouija, Maid Rite had a bit of that quirkiness at the beginning, hinting at the same kind of wink-and-nod approach to offbeat country... Fun." - Sauce

"It's easy to get a Hot Chelle Rae song stuck in your head. It's not so easy to write one... The four friends from Nashville, Tenn., formed Hot Chelle Rae six years ago. They burst onto the scene this year, selling over 2 million copies of their smash hit 'Tonight Tonight,' and dominating radio airplay with their follow up single 'I Like It Like That.' They've been touring non-stop and were recently named new artist of the year at the American Music Awards." - SF Gate "Hot Chelle Rae took shape in 2005, balancing the polished sounds of mainstream pop with energized, guitar-heavy dance-rock... Their second album, Whatever, sports a sound slicker than Turtle Wax... every song (has) a huge singalong hook that even the strongest pop haters might find imprinted on their brains after hearing it twice in a mall." - All Music Guide " 'Tonight Tonight'... one of the catchiest pop-rock anthems of the summer." - USA Today " 'Tonight Tonight,'' the Nashville-bred pop-rockers' bubbly summer smash, provided the perfect soundtrack to surviving the last hours of a shift at Jamba Juice... bubbly elasti-funk and breezy hip-hop swagger.” grade B - Entertainment Weekly "Hot Chelle Rae... (have) mastered the art of pop." - Absolute Punk
Past tours with acts like Hot Chelle Rae, We The Kings, Allstar Weekend, Honor Society & more have made Action Item one of the most buzzed acts of this past year.
Electric Touch shot off to an impressive start. Soon after their mercurial formation in 2007, the four-piece played their first show that December and immediately signed a record deal. Before their debut album was even set to hit stores in the summer of '08, the band was confirmed to rock the stages of Coachella! They also wowed crowds at SXSW, and appeared at the Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo Festivals! "How good are they live? Enough that we’re going out on a limb to call Electric Touch the best set of the Austin City Limits Fest." - Austin.com

The Devil Baby Freakshow is made up of musicans from all the the world. The guitar player Dr. Bu-Bu Johnson is a legendary blues man from the Great White North. Due to extensive touring in the North Dakota and Wyoming hotel lounge circuit he rarely has time to join the band in St. Louis. Albert is a classically trained Jazz trumpet player and the only person on the stage not pretending to play an instrument. He also has a hard time with the language barrier in the band considering only half the band speaks English. The beautiful Shank Kinfe Shelly always had the dream to be a world famous tap dancer. Now with the sucess of the Devil Baby Freakshow she has lived that dream. JoJo Drummer is not actually a drummer he is better suited as a sound or light man. He will soon be replaced in the band with an angry monkey or a little kid with better licks. "The Count" interpertation of guitar solos make any hardcore fan pump their fist and nod their heads. Born in Europe and growing up in Appalachia has greatly influenced his musical style. What can be said about the powerfulness of Beqi, her singing, presence, and biceps really round out this band of outsiders, freaks, and losers. Oh execpt for Lucass, he is the popular one.

REDS is an original four piece that focuses on hooks, harmonies and songwriting. The sound is best described as blues/pop/classic rock with a diverse range of other sounds and styles in their repertoire ranging from country to r&b to punk.
"Featuring a loose cast that includes Laren Loveless, Josh Palmer, Jeff Albert, Luke Berry, Tommy Ing and Meg Rooney, Vintage Years combines warm and consoling electric piano, acoustic guitars, a bold rhythm section and well-positioned harmonies to cushion the blow of songs of loss and longing... dreamy songs soaked in reverb and gospel soul." - KDHX
